.deep
Is .deep a real TLD? Who’s applying to run it?
.deep is not contested. One application for it is on ICANN’s Reveal Day list, as of 7 October 2026. It is Nano Labs.
Evocative of deep tech and deep learning, but adjective endings rarely become a serious primary identity; expect niche use.
deep-tech and AI startups, ocean, diving and wellness brands, and phrase-domain buyers (dive.deep, go.deep) wanting a memorable secondary address
The 2012 applications making the most similar bet. Chosen by AI from every string in that round, without being told what happened to any of them.
Same bet: a bare English adjective with no category or industry attached, sold purely on the connotation a registrant wants to borrow, so its value depends entirely on marketers finding the word evocative rather than on any defined buyer pool.
Another single-syllable adjective priced on vibe rather than meaning — the registry has to manufacture demand from anyone who likes the word, which is the identical go-to-market and identical weakness as a one-word mood string.
Also a generic adjective, but one with a technology valence that lets it be pitched at a product/engineering audience the way a depth-of-intelligence word would be, so the bet is the same adjective bet with a narrower, tech-flavored pitch.
What a .deep domain is
.deep is not a TLD yet. It is a string on our record of the ICANN 2026 new gTLD round, filed under AI & tech. One application for it is on ICANN’s Reveal Day list.
Is the .deep domain extension real yet?
.deep is not yet a domain extension you can register: nothing resolves under it, and no registrar sells names in it. It is a string applicants have put forward in the ICANN 2026 new gTLD round, the process that decides whether it becomes one.
When can you buy a .deep domain?
You can’t yet. ICANN publishes every applied-for string on Reveal Day, 7 October 2026 at 18:00 UTC. A .deep name can only be registered after that, once the string is delegated and its registry opens. Last round's closest parallel to .deep was .cool, delegated on 23 January 2014.
Is .deep a real TLD?
Not yet. .deep is not in the DNS root, so nothing resolves under it. It’s here because .deep is on ICANN’s Reveal Day list of applied-for strings. Every entry on this page links to its source.

- Band chosen: 30-49 (usable but limited), at its low edge. .deep is a plain English adjective with a genuine semantic hook into the AI and deep-tech vocabulary (deep learning, deep tech) plus softer hooks into ocean, diving, meditation and 'deep dive' content. By analogy (flagged as analogy), adjective and mood-word TLDs from the earlier new-gTLD round such as .cool, .best, .fun and .top tended to register on price or as phrase-domain novelties rather than as the primary identity of serious projects, and their aftermarkets stayed thin outside a handful of dictionary-word and phrase matches; .deep is likely to follow that pattern rather than the path of a noun-category TLD. It is not in the 50-69 band because there is no category in which .deep would be a natural default — AI projects already have an established category standard (.ai) and deep-tech firms default to legacy namespaces — so adoption would need explaining and sustained demand is not evidenced; the record shows a single confirmed applicant (Ipollo Tech Ltd) and no category tag, which says nothing about demand either way. It is not in the 10-29 band because the deep-tech/AI association gives it a recurring, not merely event-driven, buyer group, and the word composes into usable phrase domains (go.deep, dive.deep, think.deep) that some brands would plausibly adopt as a campaign or secondary identity. Main market uncertainty: whether the AI and deep-tech community treats .deep as a credible brand signal (which would pull it toward the middle of the band) or dismisses it as a vanity suffix next to .ai (which would push it toward the band floor), and whether phrase-domain demand persists beyond launch novelty.
